I decided to make a small calendar using the Vintage Picnic stamp set. I knew I could make a different picnic basket to represent each month. I started by printing the square calendar I previously downloaded from A Muse onto Stampers Select White cs, cut them into 4"x4" squares, and rounded the corners. Next I stamped the picnic basket images, colored them using Copic markers, and cut them out. I adhered them to each page using dimensionals and tied a piece of coordinating Perfect Match ribbon through a hole punched in the upper right corner. I knew I wanted a unique cover for the calendar so I decided to create a woven picnic basket using Kraft cs cut into 1" pieces and sponged with Chai Tea Dye ink. I covered both sides of two chipboard coasters and added a lip around each top edge. Finally I added some handles with a few aged copper brads to the front cover and a scalloped oval piece with the year stamped using Fresh Alphabet and Dark Chocolate ink. Everything is held together using a metal ring. The calendar stands nicely on a desk or table.
