My son's 11th birthday is tomorrow and I waited until today to create a card. I was excited and inspired by this months submissions for masculine cards. Since we are an active duty Navy family, this is the perfect stamp set for us.
I started with Kraft cardstock that I punched a "Porthole" in the lower corner. Although you cannot tell from the photos, I used the clear acetate that the stamps arrived on to create the porthole window. The little anchors were stamped and punched with the green Marvy Uchida circle punch and raised with foam squares. They remind me of the buttons on Navy Enlisted Dress Blues (the ones that look like the Cracker Jack boy). Upper corner was created by using the Stampin' Up! scalloped square punch then cutting the square in 1/2 diagonally. I then stamped the little circles.
Since this card will probably not have money inside, I needed to make it a little more exciting than the average boring card!! I stamped the sailboat onto the Not Quit Navy paper strip the layered it with other sailboat pieces that I had stamped and cut out...........
I think he will feel very special knowing that I made a card JUST 4 HIM!!!
