Homemade slice and bake cookie dough can be made in November and frozen until the holidays. Throw in a pack of Christmas sprinkles (these are from Target) and you have a great host/hostess gift. Wrap the dough in parchment paper and store in a paper towel tube to maintain shape. I covered my paper towel tube with patterned paper and sealed with a label from Holiday Treats.
